At Spektri Business Park, we are committed to advancing the energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of office properties. Since the majority of emissions during a building’s lifecycle occur during its use, we aim to contribute to making Spektri’s properties more environmentally responsible and energy-efficient. We strive to integrate environmental considerations into both our customers’ operations and our own.
In recent years, several measures have been implemented at Spektri to enhance sustainability, resulting in a combined 66% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. In the first quarter of 2022, emissions were as much as 450 tons lower compared to the same period in 2020. The properties utilize geothermal heating and cooling as well as green wind electricity. Building systems and automation are continuously updated.
Recycling is an integral part of daily operations at Spektri. All waste is carefully sorted, after which the various waste types are recycled, repurposed, or incinerated for energy. None of Spektri’s waste ends up in a landfill.
All common areas are equipped with LED lighting, and the majority of office spaces have adopted the same energy-efficient solutions. This improves both the energy efficiency of the buildings and the user experience.
Spektri Business Park has been awarded the coveted BREEAM In-Use environmental certification with the grade Excellent as an indication of its environmental efficiency and social responsibility. BREEAM, which focuses on environmental performance, is the leading rating system for sustainable development, covering health, well-being, energy, building accessibility, water, materials, emissions, property management, land use and ecology. In addition, Spektri Business Park’s office buildings are also part of the voluntary energy efficiency agreement for business properties (TETS), which aims to reduce energy use in buildings.
Energy efficiency always starts with measuring and monitoring consumption. Spektri’s energy manager regularly monitors the consumption of electricity, heating, cooling and water in the buildings, as well as the sorting of waste by division. Continuous evaluation confirms the standardised continuity of development activities.
Sustainability is an important criterion in the choice of premises, and transparent monitoring of the carbon footprint of premises is an essential way for more and more companies to implement their environmental strategy. BREEAM certification enables Spektri to better support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals.
