When Benton Eläinlääkärit was looking for office space to lease in Espoo, Spektri Business Park exceeded expectations. The modern, bright, and homely premises in a prime Northern Tapiola location allow for top-quality care for pets.

When CEO and veterinarian Susanna Mäkelä founded Benton Eläinlääkärit in spring 2025, one of the most important decisions was finding the right location for the clinic. The choice landed on Espoo’s Spektri Business Park—a place combining excellent accessibility, modern facilities, and room to grow.

“At first, I wondered whether a veterinary clinic could be located in a business park, but Spektri turned out to be exactly the right choice. I wanted to build a clinic that reflects our values, and Spektri offered the perfect foundation for that,” Mäkelä says.

Leasing office premises at Spektri also allowed Benton to install striking window decals and illuminated signage, helping clients find the clinic with ease.

“Illuminated signage wouldn’t be possible in a residential building, but here our logo is visible from afar. It’s great that Spektri values consumer services alongside B2B companies.”

Smooth Cooperation from the Start

Initially, Susanna Mäkelä was interested in a smaller unit at Spektri, but ended up renting a 249 m² space previously used by a physiotherapy business. The layout and infrastructure were already well-suited for a clinic, which simplified and sped up the startup process.

Today, the clinic features nine rooms: in addition to the reception area, there are three treatment rooms, an operating room, dental room, laboratory, X-ray room, and equipment sterilization area. Only radiation shielding for the X-ray required construction work—otherwise, a light renovation was enough.

“The Spektri team supported us throughout and made the layout changes easy.”

A Cozy Clinic with a Customer-Focused Approach

For Mäkelä, it was important to create a veterinary clinic where both pets and people feel comfortable. In the waiting area, sofas are positioned so pets don’t have to face each other. A dedicated cat room is also under construction.

She especially appreciates the building’s glass facade, which brings in natural light while frosted-style decals ensure privacy.

Staff wellbeing is also taken into account—not only with a functional workspace, but also access to Spektri Business Park’s modern gym and two restaurants.

“I’ve heard there are several office dogs at Spektri. It’s easy for them to pop in for a quick checkup,” Mäkelä smiles.
